Move to the Cloud Without Betting the Season on It

Migration risk is the number-one reason firms stay on aging servers. Our process removes that risk with assessment, pilots, testing and a rollback plan — before anyone’s workflow changes.

The fear isn't the cloud — it's the move

Most firm leaders already believe the cloud is where they’ll end up. What stops them is the move itself: What if the tax software doesn’t behave? What if data is lost in transit? What if staff show up Monday and can’t print? A failed migration in February isn’t an inconvenience; it’s a crisis.

Those are the right worries — and they’re exactly what a disciplined migration process is built to eliminate. Migrations fail when they’re improvised. They succeed when compatibility is verified first, users test before cutover, and there’s a documented way back at every step.

What Cloud Migration includes

MangoCloud runs your migration as a managed project with a dedicated coordinator. We assess your current environment, verify application compatibility, design the target infrastructure, plan the sequence, transfer data securely, run pilot users and acceptance testing, and execute cutover — typically after hours or over a weekend — with rollback criteria agreed in advance.

After go-live, hypercare support stays close to your team while everyone settles in, and the same team continues managing the environment, so migration knowledge never leaves.

Benefits

Main Benefits

Assessment first

We inventory applications, versions, data, printers and integrations before proposing anything.

After-hours cutover

Final moves are scheduled for evenings or weekends to keep business hours untouched.

Compatibility verified

Each application is checked against hosting requirements and vendor terms — surprises get found on paper, not in production.

Rollback planning

Every phase has a documented way back, so no step is a one-way door.

Pilot users prove it

Real staff run real work in the new environment before the firm commits.

Post-migration hypercare

Extra support intensity in the first weeks, when questions naturally spike.

The migration process

Current environment assessment

A structured inventory of servers, applications, data volumes, users, peripherals and integrations.

Application compatibility review

Version checks, licensing/hosting terms review and dependency mapping for each application.

Infrastructure design

Target environment sized for your workload with security and backup designed in from the start.

Migration planning

A written sequence with owners, dates, dependencies and rollback criteria per phase.

Data transfer

Encrypted transfer with integrity verification — counts and checksums, not assumptions.

Pilot users

A representative group works in the new environment first and reports friction honestly.

User acceptance testing

Structured checks of applications, printing, scanning and workflows against a pass/fail list.

Cutover and post-migration support

Coordinated go-live with heightened support during the settling-in period.

Security built into the platform

Multi-factor authentication

Enforced for all remote access to hosted servers.

Encryption

Data encrypted in transit between users and the environment, with encrypted backups at rest.

Endpoint detection

Managed EDR watches hosted systems for suspicious behavior.

Isolated backups

Backup copies are separated from production infrastructure to limit blast radius.

Solved

Security during migration

Encrypted transfer

All data moves over encrypted channels; nothing travels on unmanaged media.

Integrity verification

Transferred data is verified against the source before cutover is approved.

Access control from day one

The target environment launches with MFA, role-based access and monitoring already on.

Source data preserved

Original systems are retained per plan until success criteria are met — nothing is destroyed early.

Common migration projects

On-premises server to cloud

The classic project: retire the office server and move applications and data to a managed environment.

Provider-to-provider moves

Already hosted, but unhappy? We migrate between providers with the same discipline.

Office consolidation

Merge multiple office servers into one coherent hosted environment after growth or acquisition.

Pre-season readiness moves

Time-boxed migrations completed and stable before filing season begins.

FAQs

Single-server, few-application moves often complete within a couple of weeks including testing. Multi-office or many-application projects take longer. Your assessment produces a written timeline before anything moves.

The plan is built to keep downtime minimal and scheduled — typically limited to the final cutover window, placed after hours or on a weekend. Staff usually leave Friday on the old system and start Monday on the new one.

Each phase has rollback criteria agreed in advance. If acceptance testing fails, we return to the source environment — which remains intact — fix the issue, and re-attempt on a new window.

We generally advise against major cutovers during peak filing periods and will tell you so. Most firms schedule migrations for late spring through early winter; we'll plan backward from your season.

Licenses remain yours. We coordinate re-installation and activation with your vendors within the terms of your agreements, and flag any hosting-related licensing requirements during the compatibility review.
